Path To The Occult Design


New project "Path To The Occult",  this is working title

In this article, we will share some designs and concepts.

First of all, just like our lastest game, you can customize costumes in Path To The Occult as well.

Generally, the parts you can change are bangs, long/short hair and hair color, all these changes will be reflected in the hantai events.

(The character designs may be changed in the final version)



Protagonist is an arrogant girl with sharp teeth.

For some reason, she plays the role of a cult leader in the game, and trying to expand her cult by collecting "Beliefs".

She will visit many cities to collect beliefs, once she finish the mission in one city, a new element will be unleashed, and unlock a new path.



Players can decide when to get those elements on their own, and there are mutually restraining relationships between elements.

Each city has specific element, so the difficulty is depending on the order of progression.

Besides, when the protagonist enter a new city, she will put on different outfit to blend in with local culture. That so, there will be 6 outfits at least.

(Can not bring outfit to other city)


The flowing images are some outfits, but not sure whether they will be included in the game or not.



We already had direction, will do some tests afterward.



We thought 1 character is enough, since player can customize color and hair style, but we still decide to add second female character.

Her Hantai events will be less than protagonist.

The second character is protagonist's follower.

Her skin color is brown to make them look obviously different.

She is an expressionless and composed girl, you may think she is clever, but the truth is that she always get her boss into trouble by her bad idea.

You can say that she is the instigator of all this.


She didn't look like a follower on first design,  so we turned her into a maid, it looks more like a subordination.



Except for the design, the another purpose is to reduce the game size.

Before, we created images in RM classic way, every variants must be a single image.

As for now, there are more variants than before, it's impossible to keep the same way.

So we manage to use different system for the sprites and hantai events.


We plan to release a test version which contains simple hantai event in the future.

It will be our honor if anyone could test the game for us.
